Waterfall Braid tutorial ♥

Hey dolls,

Hope you are all well. I, like many other bloggers, have just finished my A level exams and therefore blogging has taken a back seat for a while, but I am back and ready to blog again :)

Summer is finally upon us and at this time of year I always love to braid my hair. My new obsession is the waterfall braid as it looks lovely with beach waves. It is quite tricky the first few times but once you get around which pieces go where you'll be able to do it quickly and as easily as a normal braid.

Start with a long parting on one side of your head.

Then split your hair into a small section at the front.

Braid as usual for about two rotations.

Now drop the bottom piece of the braid (I like to grip it with my lips as it keeps it out of the way).

Now pick up a new bottom piece from the rest of your hair.

Add a small amount of hair to the top piece of the braid only.

Continue dropping, getting a new bottom section and joining hair to the top section each time you braid the hair and you will begin to see something like this.

Once you reach the back of the head, you can either bobble the waterfall braid off or continue to a regular braid.

This is the final look. I think it looks lovely with natural wavy hair for that boho look!

I hope my steps were easy to follow - as always if you have any questions just comment below.

NOTD - China glaze up all night with a Royal Wedding twist ♥

Hey dolls,

Hope you are all well and looking forward to the Royal Wedding tomorrow; I know I am! I can't wait to see her dress and what her hair looks like as she's becoming quite a trend setter with her engagement ring and dress ( with versions available on the Lipsy website)!

I thought I would just post photos of what I have done to my nails today with inspiration from the big day.

How are you guys celebrating the Wedding and what are your guesses for hair and make-up? I'm guessing a loose updo with a fitted dress - I'm sure she'll look stunning whatever she wears!

“Put a spring in your spring! Tell us, how would you lighten up your life? #AussieLight”

Hey dolls,

Aussie angels are giving a super opportunity to win one of ten chances to be an Aussie angel and as a lover of all Aussie products I just have to enter.

The question that you have to answer is :

“Put a spring in your spring! Tell us, how would you lighten up your life? #AussieLight”

So I was thinking about how I could answer the question and then I thought about an A-Z about things that remind me of spring!

Aussie products -well I ♥ them, the smell, the way they make my hair feel, the list could go on .....

Bows - great accessories for the summer to keep the hair our your eyes when tanning!

Curling tongs - curly hair is my signature style and it cannot be achieved without the tongs!

Dubai holidays - every summer I head off with the family and adore Dubai and actually want to move there when I'm older

Easter eggs - how can you have spring without Easter eggs?

Fishtail braids - I love fishtail braids and with all the celebs being spotted in them recently, I definitely will be wearing alot more of them this spring!

Glitter - for those spring night on the town

Handbags - these are vital for any outfit and I ♥ getting out the bright ones when the sun starts to shine!

I-pods  - I ♥ blasting out my tunes whilst spring cleaning or suntanning

Jelly Beans - well you have to have something to snack on in the long revision sessions

Killer heels - a must!

Lip glosses - a girl can never have too many!

Magazines - looking at the new trends for spring /summer and creating your wish list!

Nail Varnishes - especially on those toes that are visible to all.

Only Way Is Essex - I ♥ this programme so much! Don't forget it starts this week!

Plaits - I love this style at the moment and actually got Aussie hair of the day for it! I also did it on my cousins hair and it looked lush!

Quick shopping sprees - hahahahaha, well every girls is guilty!

Revising in style - unfortunately I have A-level exams in the summer, but i ♥ it when the sun is out and I can take my Juicy Couture stationary, put on my shades and head out into the sun to hit the books whilst getting a tan at the same time.

Sunglasses - a must have for any spring outfit!

Tans - everyone loves them, even if they're fake!

University plans - like many of the bloggers out there, I will be heading off to university this year!

Velcro rollers - volume hair is something I adore and use these in the summer to style my hair without heat damage which is vital in the spring and summer when your hair dries out anyway.

Wavy hair - again another hairstyle I ♥

X factor gossip - will they, won't they be judging it

You tube gurus - I just have to watch them to pick up new summer beauty tips!

Zebra print carrier bags - reminds me of our planned summer girly trip to Liverpool!

So I hope you like my A-Z of spring and summer :) What reminds you girls of spring?

Los Angeles & Derek Hough ♥

Hey dolls,

Last year I went to Los Angeles and I had an amazing time! I went for a week and flew from Heathrow terminal five, which I was quite looking forwards to but I was a little dissappointed as I didn't think that it was that much better than terminal three.

I love America in general but love Los Angeles so much, probably because of the weather and the whole glitz and glam of going to Hollywood, Rodeo Drive etc. Oohh and the star spotting! Last time I went I saw Jessica Alba, Ruby out of Eastenders and Matt Willis who was in Busted. This year I met Matt Lucas at LAX at passport controls, I saw Mario Lopez at the Grove Shopping centre and I met Derek Hough aka Cheryl Cole's BFF in my hotel!

Me and Derek Hough

Mario Lopez - Kylie Minogue was at the Shopping Centre at the same time as me too.

I love America and love the shopping as there are so many shops over there that we don't have in the UK and prices are much lower. I absolutely love Victoria's Secret; I think the Pink clothing section has some really nice things and I love it because you can't get them in the UK so no one else has the same things as you. I love going in Juicy Couture and Abercrombie and Fitch as you can pick things up much cheaper than they are in the UK.

LA Ink - I ♥ that programme!

Malibu

Hugh Hefner's Star :)

I was addicted to these!

Aussie Hair Event ♥

Hey dolls,

I hope you are all well! I feel like I haven't been blogging for ages due to my January A level exams but now that they are out of the way until June and I have had all my uni offers I can blog again :D.

So back at Christmas time I was kindly invited to a Aussie Hair Christmas event in Leeds and I had an amazing time. My cousin Siobhan came with me and we both treated like celebrities having our hair done and nibbling on the lovely BBQ before an afternoon of shopping!

I personally love curly hair with lots of volume such as Cheryl Cole and Kim Kardashians and I have major hair envy! I do everything to get volumised hair from root boosting sprays, to lots of backcombing (and smoothing with the tangle tweezer - its amazing!) to using bumpits and gripping up my curls, so when I saw that they had a stand dedicated to volumised hair I just had to get my hair done there! The hairdresser was lovely and spent ages on my hair and it looked amazing! For my prom back in 2009, I wanted big curly hair and would have loved to have this! I got complements throughout the afternoon and it stayed in really well as often the volume in my hair tends to drop. The products used on my hair smelt lovely and as an aussie product user, I love the way they make your hair feel.

I had a lovely time at the Aussie Event and was lucky enough to receive a goody bag at the end filled with gifts and an Aussie Shampoo and Conditioner. I personally love Aussie products and can certainly tell a difference when I use them rather than other regular shampoos and conditions; my hair is tangle free and easier to comb as well as be shiny and smooth.

I would like to thank Emma at Aussie hair for inviting me :)

Pantene ♥

Hey dolls,

I was recently sent some pantene pro-v products and after using them I would definitely recommend them! I was sent the aqua light shampoo, conditioner, intensive mask and nourishment spray and then a heat protector.

I love the aqua light shampoo and conditioner - they smell lovely and they do make your hair feel much lighter but not dry.

I have wanted to try the intensive mask for some time as I love the feeling of really smooth, conditioned hair. I love this mask and will definitely repurchase when I have used it all up. It tells you to shampoo and condition as usual and then leave this on for 2 -3 minutes. As I wanted to fully feel the effects of the conditioning, I left it on for much longer and then washed it out and let my hair air dry. My hair was smooth and I couldn't stop feeling my fringe - I would recommend this product and have to done to my friends!

The nourishment spray is to be used on damp or dry hair and you spray it onto hair that needs nourishment. As my fringe tends to get dry due to hair drying and straightening, I used the spray here and I could tell a difference as it fell soft and again I couldn't stop touching it! The spray is made up of two different liquids - a blue and a clear and therefore the spray has to be shaken before using.

The heat protector was part of the ice shine range and again I would use this again. I think that heat protectors are the most important hair products after shampoo and conditioner especially if you want to use heat but prevent split ends and breakages.

Have any of you used the aqua light range? What do you guys think to it?

Pimp your poppy ♥

Hey dolls!

Hope you are all well and had a lovely Halloween! I was in Los Angeles last week and will be doing a post about where I went, what I bought and who I met!

So as many of you in the UK will know that around this time of year, poppies are worn for remembrance day and this year more and more celebrities are wearing crystal poppies; from the X Factor judges to the Loose Women ladies. I love the idea behind the poppies and think that pimping them makes them so more fashionable!

I had the idea to pimp my poppy the other day and quickly ordered some crystals from the Internet and purchased my poppy and then got busy with the bling!

This is what you will need if you want to recreate the pimped poppy:

Simply take the tweezers and lifted the crystals from the paper, twisting as you do so. Don't worry about the glue, it is already attached.

Then place the crystal where you want on the poppy, I went for a random crystal look, and then push down with your fingers to ensure that they are stuck down.

Then carry on placing your crystals and there you go, a pimped poppy!
